Lysaght New Products or Garbage!

BlueScope Lysaght releases New Products in South Australia

This from a comment in August Roofing &Rollforming News by Anonymous that was speaking of new releases of Lysaght products.
Here's the comment:

lysaght sa have finally replaced there unpopular kliplok deck. Rolling as of today is the New kliplok classic. A return to 406 but with 700 coverage. Also launched this week is a new fence panel - spanscreen. A panel fence rolled out of spandek that covers 2900mm as opposed to a traditional 2400mm coverage. Should we all be in shock they're finally trying something New and different. And will it be enough. Or is it a case of, too little too late? Now if only they had manning to process and produce the orders they maybe able to offer it more than just twice a week!
Let's go through each point raised by anonymous:
  1. New Kliplok Classic replaces unpopular kliplok deck? A return to 406 but with 700 coverage?
  2. Also launched this week is a new fence panel called Spanscreen?
  3. Spanscreen is rolled out of Spandek that covers 2900mm as opposed to traditional 2400mm
All this seems pretty amazing with two releases in one week from an anonymous comment on this BLOG on BlueScope Lysaght new products! Lets start with this weeks release of "Spanscreen" to be released in South Australia! Go to the website Lysaght Search Spanscreen - WHAT IS THE RESULT? - It is nothing - not Spanscreen!
Here's the result:

Spanscreen - maybe - maybe not!
Is there a new product called Spanscreen - YES! It was registered by BlueScope in March 2012  as shown here at Details for Australian Trademark No. 1479309 here! So there is some truth in this new fence product called spanscreen - but how can you have a cover of 2400mm increased to a cover of 2900mm - has anyone got any idea if this is even possible???? A rollformer nearly 4 meters wide to produce a 2900mm cover product would be required. Anonymous is simply not able to express details of roof (or fence) sheet measurements. Maybe Lysaght should release this sort of detail on their website!

Next is the release of Kliplok Classic - getting rid of the Kliplok deck and returning to the 406 Kliplok with a 700 coverage???????
Here's the Kliplok Classic:

Kliplok Classic 700?
Here's the Kliplok 406

Here's Kliplok High 700 High Strength

Kliplok hi-strength 700
Not a great new innovation to set the world on fire! Well what does everyone make of these new releases by Lysaght? The problem is, there is half truth in each of the claims which means that Lysaght is probably going ahead with these two amazing products! And further into the comments made by Anonymous means that Bluescope Lysaght is releasing info internally and these staff members are spreading it on the big world wide web without the correct specifications!1

  1. A 2900mm fence panel is probably just using 4 infill sheets rather than the usual 3. Nothing special there apart from profile change.
The kliplok news makes sense in terms of rationalizing feed widths. What's was the benefit of 406 if you can get a better span using 700.

It was stated as cover in the comment - not infill width - why didn't they just state wider panel instead of cover - who ever Anonymous was - they have no idea on specifications - and to add to that - if they are from BlueScope Lysaght - they need help!

It always makes sense to rationalise feed width (10 years ago)- if Lysaght have only just caught on - then again - they need help!

  2. you can already put spandek in a fence panel, they are just trying to re-invent the wheel. roofer, i think he means 2900 panels (4 sheets) instead of your normal trimdeck good neighbour setup

lysaght's are a joke though, ive heard they have recruited a c grader from fielders centenary to head up their living collection section! good luck

Not good for Lysaghts if it the person that left Centenary not long ago!

    2. different person roofer as he is still working @ fielders currently, has the intitials AA.

Think calling him a 'c grader' is a bit harsh tinman, may not have the expierence of others who used to work in centenary @ fielders but no doubt he will be missed

  5. Lysaght is 150 years old and a long way from dead. Their new CEO Mark Criminns is meant to be turning the culture around pretty quickly. It is however a big rusty ship to turn around !

    1. Neville,

Thanks for the info - Is it Mark CRIMMINS? (Not Mark Criminns!) - the ex NSW State Manager of Lysaght from 2009 to 2010, then General Manager of Lysaght from 2010 to present - NOW CEO? A 3 year rise to the top - not bad - but what about prior to 2009???

Maybe it is a Mark Criminns (brand new)- from outside the management group that was given the CEO position - but this is a big shift from normal operating procedures for the promotion within BlueScope Lysaght!

I'd bet it is Mark Crimmins that made the CEO spot (all in house) in BlueScope Lysaght!

    2. Mark Crimmins is an Irishman who came from Kingspan, don't how long ago he came to Australia
